First-hand user feedback

Usability tests examine the usability of products, software, services or information. In your and our context this usually means: Together we check the usability of the information provided and the information channels. It doesn't matter whether it's a classic printed manual or a content delivery portal, for example. What counts is whether the user gets what they need.

Observe users in their "natural" environment

Typical users are selected by a well-founded target audience analysis. In their normal working environment, users are accompanied when typical tasks are being handled with the information products to be tested. Stumbling blocks and real positive effects for users and their work are recorded and preserved.

We want to become better together

In joint projects, we can integrate such usability tests in order to meet the needs of users as precisely as possible. Whether at the end of a project to validate it or to plan long-term improvement projects for specific information products: There are many ways to integrate usability tests.

Scientific support

In order to be up-to-date in terms of method competence and technology application, we involve universities in such projects. Together with professors and students, the experimental setup can then be planned and the appropriate methods and technologies selected.

For example, students can equip the user with a mobile eye-tracking camera that records which areas of the screen or printed instructions the user is looking at during tasks.

EEG recordings are also possible, which measure brain activity during the experiment and allow conclusions to be drawn about the stress or interest level of the user in a particular situation. But classic methods such as thinking out loud or interviews and specially tailored questionnaires can also be used.

Are you looking for a partner for a usability test?

Perhaps you would also like to know how users deal with your own information products. We are happy to plan such projects together with you and our university partners. In the end, you decide for yourself how best to incorporate the results into your practice.
