Workshop "Value Added Visualisation Concepts" - Visualisation - Graphics - Overview - Overview - Seminar descriptions

Our services - What we can do for you

What's it about?

The primary function of illustrations in Operating Manuals is to give the user an understanding of the product and to make individual steps of action comprehensible. This view is probably shared by anyone who has ever assembled a piece of furniture themselves.

Since images are the first to be perceived and captured at a glance, they can at the same time have a significant impact on the overall impression of the product and, consequently, of the manufacturer.

On the other hand, images are usually more complex to produce than text. All the more reason to consider a general visualisation concept: What types of images are suitable for the product? How can images convey the corporate design? How can the significance of an image be increased?

In this workshop, you will learn how you can increase the quality of your technical documentation, both in terms of content and appearance, through a value-added visualisation concept and what you need for it.

Our Topics

  • Mental processes of image perception

  • Content and meaning of a visualisation concept

  • Types of illustration (e.g. photo, line drawing, pictogram)

  • Means of design (e.g. item numbers, vignette, magnifying glass)

  • Special features of low-text instructions

  • Evaluation options

Learning objective

In the workshop we receive an overview of different types of mapping and visualisation concepts, as well as their potentials. Together we will explore the question of what makes meaningful and high-quality images. You will develop a feeling for how a well thought-out visualisation concept can make your technical documentation appealing, reader-friendly and comprehensible.

Target audience

The workshop is aimed at everyone who is responsible for technical documentation.
